היום חזרתי מפסטיבל אקטיביזם 2010. מאוד התרשמתי משרותי הקומפוסט - אפשר לראות בוידיו קליפ. אנחנו נכין שרותים כאלה בבולגריה

Today I got back from the Activism Festival 2010. I was really impressed by the compost toilets as you can see from the following video clip. We are going to make compost toilets like this in Bulgaria

קיץ 2009 בבולגריה - בעלי-חיים / Bulgaria, Summer 2009 - Animals

בהופש הגדול הראשון שלי בוודיצה ב-2009 היו לי הרבה מפגשים עם חיות, חלק היו היות משק כמו: עזים, פרות, כבשים, חמורים, וכו, וחלק היו חוית בר כמו חסידות, גחליליות ואפילו נחש! כמעט ולא מחזיקים שם סתם היות מחמד בשביל הכיף - חוץ מהחברה שלנו קת'י שאוהבת חתולים וכלבים.

During my first summer holiday in Voditsa in 2009 I had lots of encounters with animals. Some were farm animals such as goats, cows, sheep, donkeys, etc; and some were wild animals such as storks, glow-worms and even a snake. Almost nobody there keeps animals just as pets (except for our friend Kathy who loves cats and dogs).

Ima and Abba bought me two chicks - one male and one female. They grew very quickly. When it came to the end of the summer and we had to leave the village we handed them over to our neighbor Dancho who agreed to look after them for us till next summer

חברה שלי זואי נתנה לי לרכב על הסוסה שלה ועשינו סיבוב שלם בכפר. בדרך ראינו קן של הסידות וגם עצרנו לשתות מים קרים מאחד המעינות.

My friend Zoe let me have a ride on her horse and we went all around the village. Along the way we saw a storks' nest, and we also stopped to drink some cold water from one of the springs

קיבלתי גם ארנבון במתנה - אבל אחרי כמה ימים הוא ברח לנו. יום אחד ישבתי עם כמה ידידות בדשא והאמא של אחת מהן הביאה לי ארנב ללטף. שאלתי את אחת הבנות: "גם את אוהבת ארנבונים?" ו היא ענתה לי: "מאוד! במיוחד עם תפוחי-אדמה בתנור". זה הרגע שהבנתי שמה שאצלנו היית מחמד, אצלם זה היית משק שמגדלים בשביל לאכול אותו

I was also given a rabbit as a gift - but after a few days he ran away. One day I was sitting on the grass with some of my friends and the Mum of one of them gave me a rabbit to stroke. I asked one of the girls: "Do you also like rabbits?" "A lot!", she replied, "Especially with baked potatoes!" That was when I realized that what is a pet for us for them is a farm animal that they keep for food.
