כשאמא עבדה בבוץ שמתי לב שצרעה כל פעם באה והלכה ולחקה איתה בוץ לבניית הקן. עשיתי תצפית ואני חושבת שגיליתי איפה הקן. אפשר לראות אותה בוידאו קליפ המצורף.

When Ima was working with mud I noticed that a wasp kept coming and going and took with her mud for building her nest. I followed her and I think I discovered where her nest is. You can watch it on this video clip:

סיפור מהחיים - Dani (Lielle's Dad) tells it from his point of view

מאז שהחלטתי לנסוע לטיול ארוך ולהפסיק לעבוד קשה היתי בלחצים מכל הכיונים. סוף סוף הצלחתי וארגנתי לי טיסה באופן מפתיע בזכותה של בינתי ענת והופ... אני במטוס נוחת בסופיה ומשם להוסטל מוסטל ובבוקר מוקדם תפסתי אוטובוס לעיר פופובו ומשם מונית לוודיצה והיפתעתי את ליאל וג'ולי שחשבו שאגיע רק בשעות הלילה. איך שהגעתי התחלתי להכין ארוחת צהריים עם ליאל וג'ולי - סלט ירקות מהגינה - והופתעתי לראות שיש לנו גינה גדולה ועסיסית.

בלילה הראשון ישנתי חזק ולמוחרת כבר התחלתי לעבוד בצביעת החדרים ולתקן פנצרים במזרוני אויר וגם ישבתי עם ליאל על לוח הכפל.

חשבתי שאנוח הרבה אך להפתעתי כל יום אנחנו קמים וכל אחד עושה עבודה לשיפור הבית ... ויש הרבה עבודה:

(1) להכין חדר לאורחת שבאה מהולנד ותהיה אצלנו תקופה ארוכה, (2) להכין חדר נוסף למשפחה בולגרית שבאה להתארח אצלנו לילה אחד.

Since deciding to go on this long trip and to stop working so hard I have been under a lot of pressure from all sides. At long last I managed to arrange a last minute flight with the help of my daughter, Anat, and then ...hop ... next moment I find myself in a plane, landing in Sofia and arriving at Hostel Mostel. After spending the night there I left early and took a bus to Popovo , and from there a taxi to Voditsa - surprising Lielle and Julie as they thought I would only arrive in the evening. As soon as I arrived I started to prepare lunch with Julie and Lielle - fresh salad from the garden - I was surprised to see we have a big and succulent garden

The first night I slept really well and the next morning I started work painting and mending punctures in the air mattresses. I also sat with Lielle to go over her times table

I thought I would rest a lot but we get up every morning and each of us finds some kind

of job to do on home improvements - and there's a lot to do - (1) prepare a room for our guest from Holland who will be staying for a while, (2) prepare another room for a Bulgarian family who will be visiting us and staying overnight

חדשות מבולגריה / News from Bulgaria

אני כבר כמעת חודש שלם בבולגריה ועשינו כל כך הרבה דברים שלא היה לי זמן לכתוב עליהם. הנה רשימה חלקית של חלק מהדברים שעשינו:

1. הכרנו משפחה נחמדה עם תינוק והם גילו לנו איפה הבריכה בפופובו. בינתיים הם חזרו לאנגליה לעבוד אבל הם אמרו שבשנה הבאה הם יבואו שוב ונפגש פעם בשבוע לשיוער אנגלית בבריכה כי שניהם מורים לאנגלית.

2. פגשנו את החברה שלנו קליאה מברזיל בווליקו תרנובו וביחד בילינו בפסטיבל פולקלור. שם הצטלמתי עם רקדנים ממקסיקו ופורטוגל וגם עם רקדניות פלמנקו מספרד.

3. הלכנו לשדה של חמניות וצלמתי לבד כמה תמונות יפיפיות. אנחנו רוצים לחזור לשם בקרוב כדי לראות איך קוטפים אותן.

4. אני מבלה הרבה עם באבא צונקה השכינה שמלמדת אותי שירים בבולגרית. לפני כמה שבועות הגיעו שתי הנכדות שלה מסופיה ושיחקנו המון ביחד בתחפושות, איפור פנים, בריכה, עבודות יצירה ועוד. אולי נבקר אותם כשנסע לסופיה.

5. בשבוע שעבר נסענו 6 שעות כדי להגיע לפסטיבל מדהים שיש רק פעם בכל 5 שנים. היה ממש שווה. היו רקדנים מכל חלקי בולגריה - כולם עם תלבושות משורתיות יפות. עשינו קמפינג והיה ממש כיף.

6. בימים האחרונים אמא עובדת על קיר עשוי מבוץ וראיתי איך צרעה באה לקחת בוץ כדי לבנות את הקן שלה.

זה מה שהיה לנו עכשיו - בוים ראשון אנחנו נוסעים לוורנה ואני אעדכן את הבלוג כשאני אחזור - בלי נדר.

I have been in Bulgaria for almost a whole month and we have been so busy doing things that I haven't had much time to write about it all - here is a partial list of some of the things we've been doing

(1) We met a very nice couple with a baby who introduced us to the swimming pool in Popovo. They have gone back to England now to work but they said that when they come back to Bulgaria next year we can meet at the pool once a week for an English lesson as they are both English teachers.

(2) We met up with our friend Cleia from Brazil in Veliko Turnovo and together we went to an International Folklore Festival. I had my picture taken with dancers from Portugal and Mexico and also with a Spanish flamenco dancer.

(3) We went to take pictures of the sunflowers and we want to go back to the sunflower field again soon to see how they pick them.

(4) I spend a lot of time with our neighbour Baba Tzonka who teaches me songs in Bulgarian. A few weeks ago her grand-daughters from Sofia came to visit and we spent a lot of time together playing dressing up, face-painting, arts and crafts and in the pool. Maybe when we go back to Sofia we shall go and visit them.

(5) Last week we drove 6 hours to visit an amazing folklore festival which takes place in Bulgaria once every 5 years. It was really worth it. There were dancers and musicians from all over the country and they had beautiful colourful costumes. We camped there for two nights and it was great fun.

(6) These last couple of days Ima is working on replastering a mud wall and I noticed how a wasp was taking some of the wet mud to make its nest - really interesting.

That's some of what we've been doing up till now. On Sunday we are going to Varna and when we get back I shall hopefully update this blog again.
